LAVAlabs joined this year’s Cartoon Forum in Toulouse, France. It was an exciting four day event with colorful pitching sessions of pre-selected TV projects and numerous opportunities to network with other producers, authors, directors, broadcasters, distributors and many many more.
Thanks to the German Producers Alliance we had a wonderful kick-off event focusing on the European partnership with Poland and the Baltic states during the first day of the forum including numerous representatives from all of Germany’s federal and regional film funding institutions as well as German and other European producers in the animation and gaming industry.
With 900 participants from 30 countries, 270 broadcasters and investors, and 91 animation projects that were pitched in informative and creative 30-minute sessions, the Cartoon Forum was a very interactive and rewarding event. In a lot of the pitching sessions a focus in terms of format was cross-media. Producers talked about creating series not only for TV, but also for the internet and how the stories can be tied into video games. The goal is to have everything accessible on mobile devices.
We’re excited for Cartoon Forum 2016 and hope to see more projects and meet more partners next year!
